This renovation was all about maximizing the stunning views, and taking advantage of the existing reverse living layout. We took off the roof and designed a rooftop deck with a spiral staircase for access. The roof top deck railings are glass to make the most of the view. We installed new Hardee siding, roofing, windows, and a new entry door. One of the best features of the renovation is a sliding bifold door that can be opened for access to the second floor back deck. We also changed out a side window with a sliding door and added a sliding door to the front deck to make the second floor look even larger and bring in more light.
We made changes on the interior of the home as well such as replacing all the interior doors, installing pocket doors on the bathrooms for added space, moving the location of some windows and doors for better functionality, and installing new luxury vinyl flooring. We added a gas fireplace in the living area for warmth on those chilly nights. The staircase was opened to the foyer below as well as installing a new modern railing and the treads were stained a contrasting color. The loft area that we created adds extra living space as well as storage.
The end result is a completely modern and functional home. Throughout this project, maximizing the space within the house and making the most of the outdoor areas and view were our priorities. The materials we used were meant to be durable and maintenance free as this house is on the beach, and the colors used throughout the home are modern and simple to reflect the design of the home.
